A hefty fine for illegal fishing
A fisherman charged with illegal fishing took a guilty plea in court today. Forty-one- year-old Diogenes Murillo Gomez was caught fishing in a forbidden area and will have to pay a hefty fine of four thousand dollars for his infractions. Murrillo Gomez was arraigned before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson where he was charged with illegal entry into a natural monument and illegal fishing in a natural monument. At the arraignment, Gomez pleaded guilty to both charges and was ordered to pay two thousand dollars each for the offences. The first payment of two thousand dollars must be paid by April thirteenth, 2020, in default three months imprisonment. The second payment of two thousand dollars must be made by June fifteenth, 2020, in default three months imprisonment.
