New housing project for Orange Walk
Forty Orange Walk families have now taken up residence on what promises to be a planned residential community in the San Lorenzo area of the district. Area representative Johnny Briceno, in inaugurating the project on Saturday, says of the ninety homes built in the area seventy have already been sold.

“We presently have two and three bedroom houses. The two-bedroom house with the land included costs a little over a thousand dollars. The three-bedroom costs a little over forty thousand dollars, and this includes the house and lot. Pretty soon, within the next few weeks or in a month’s time we are going to start developing the park. We have a boulevard, the road paved all the way from the hospital to here, unto the Northern Highway we have lights, already. So it’s a good deal and I know that the residents, as we speak, most of them are very happy to be living in the San Lorenzo area.”
Briceno says he’s negotiating to purchase adjacent land to complete the community with a school, sporting facilities and park.
