Dangriga Resident Loses Life on Stann Creek Valley Road

Dangriga resident, sixty year old Lydia Weller, was also a victim of a traffic accident on Friday afternoon on the Stann Creek Valley Road. That fatality happened at around three-thirty on mile thirteen. A grey Toyota Highlander collided with a white van. Weller was inside the Highlander which was being driven at the time Beverly Flores while Aziz Ariol was behind the wheel of the white van. A.C.P. Joseph Myvett explained what went wrong.

“What the investigation revealed that Flores was south bound and apparently lost control of her vehicle after coming off the curve and collided head on into the white van being driven by Ariola. Flores’ passenger one Lidia Weller sixty years also from a Dangriga Town address received severe head and body  injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Southern Regional Hospital. Police are investigating this matter at this point in time. There were varying degrees of injuries but minor injuries I am told in relation to the other passengers.”
