Body of Densmore Bowman Found in Shallow Grave

The family of Densmore Bowman finally has closure; Densmore had been reported missing since November twenty-ninth, when he left his house in the Young Bank area of Belmopan to collect money at Western Union. His family feared the worst and this morning it came to pass. Bowman’s body was found in a shallow grave, between mile twenty-four and twenty-five on the George Price Highway, an area that his family had already searched. News Five’s Hipolito Novelo reports.

The decomposing body of thirty three year old Densmore Bowman was found this morning between miles twenty four and twenty five on the George Price Highway. A search party consisting of friends and family members embarked on yet another search for him since he went missing more than two weeks ago, on Friday November twenty-ninth. Bowman’s mother, Mary Coleman, discovered the first clues that led the search party to the grisly scene. His slippers, cell phone and dreadlocks were discovered on the shoulder of the highway. Soon after, Bowman’s body was found semi-buried in a shallow grave.

“We went through the bush and afterwards we saw foot. We saw a hand there and a bone there. We smelled it. We already knew that we have already identified the man, already decomposing. Half of his body was on the ground, half buried.”

The Belmopan resident was last seen in Roaring Creek Village, in front of Lucky Entertainment. He was with some friends socializing before getting into vehicle and never being heard from again.

“Friday, he messaged me on two-thirty on messenger and I talked to him and usually go to his house and I asked for him and they said he wasn’t there. Some of the guys said that he went to pick up some money that my mother sent for him. He went to the Credit Union first and then in the evening he went to Western Union. That’s where the guys picked him up and they drunk him. I don’t know that they did with him.”

And while the family has identified the suspects, they are left perplexed as to why Bowman was murdered.

Tiffany Cadle

“We are hearing so many things, so much information. I don’t know why. It is just a little bit of money. He picked up the first amount which was a hundred and seventy six dollars and the second amount was thirty dollars. It could never be for that little amount of money. We just don’t know.”

Realizing that Bowman had been murdered and disposed of, the family mounted several searches in the area.

“I think it was the week after we found his belongings at the entrance of the dumpsite where the bus stop is. That is where we found his burnt ID. We found his cloths. We found couple other of his personal belongings. After that we stopped searched.”

Determined to find Bowman to get closure, the family reactivated the search and began combing the highway for clues.

“We never gave up because nobody helped us. We kept telling them over and over that we know that he was out here but we just needed a whole group together. We are sad but we are happy. We are happy because I can now take him to rest. I will take him back home where he comes from and put him to rest. We hope that those who are involved now they can officially charged them because first they said that they couldn’t charge them but now I guess they can charged them now and we can put this behind us and see how best we can move on from here.”

“It was acquaintances who did this or friends?”

Tiffany Cadle

“Friends, friends. His friends.”

Reporter

“Whom you haven’t spoken with. They haven’t come out here obviously.”

Tiffany Cadle

“No. Friends. All of them. All of these people he was hanging out with are people he called friends. They go to my brothers house. Their children play with my brother’s children. They are his friends.”

Mary Coleman, Mother of Deceased

Mary Coleman

“I am hurt. They hurt me and my family but let them find peace with god. I pray that God protect them and God let them find peace in him to continue their lives. My son is gone. I pray to god that they find peace with god.”

Or so he thought. Coleman was scheduled to fly to the US this evening and having found the body of her son, she now has closure.

Mary Coleman

“I am happy that we found him so I can get closure and that I can go back home and jus try to move on with my life again and try to put the pieces back in my life.”
