Phillip Roberts is Dispatched in a Hail of Bullets in Farmers Site

There was another murder over the weekend. On Saturday night, shortly after eight o’clock, police were called to Farmer’s Site in Hattieville, Belize District where another murder took place two weeks ago. Thirty-three year old Phillip Roberts of Bainsville village was executed in his own yard where he had just stepped out having had what turned out to be his last dinner. Roberts was ambushed by two gunmen who emptied their firearm on the father of two. Roberts was rushed to the K.H.M.H. but succumbed before he could get to the hospital. News Five’s Isani Cayetano reports.

On Saturday night, thirty-three-year-old Phillip Roberts had just stepped outside to scrape the morsels from his plate when he was met with a shower of bullets from a pair of gunmen who were lurking inside his yard.  In attempting to escape one attacker, Roberts ran to the back of the property into another shooter who virtually emptied his weapon on him.

“No, we don’t have that information.”

Roberts’ murder comes on the heels of another fatal shooting incident on November twenty-ninth when twenty-six-year-old Richard Smith was also gunned down in the Farmers Site neighborhood.  But are the two incidents related and why was Roberts marked for death?
