OW Couple’s Death is a Murder Investigation

The discovery of the bodies of husband and wife couple, Rafael and Nancy Huezo, rocked Orange Walk this morning.  According to police, Nancy had what appeared to be an injury to one of her hands. The couple was discovered inside their home on Stadium Street by one of their sons who had stopped by to check up on them.  He found his parents in an advanced state of decomposition. This morning at the bi-weekly press brief in Belmopan, police told the media that the matter is being treated as a murder case, despite the nascence of their investigation.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, NCIB

“It is a developing story but we know that police were called to an area on Stadium Street shortly before ten a.m. this morning whereupon arrival they discovered the bodies of two persons, a male and a female inside a home, both in a state of decomposition, an advanced state of decomposition.  We know that those persons living, or the house belonged to the Huezo family and the details will be provided later on today as soon as they are had in relation to this investigation.”

“At this point in time we do not know but one of those bodies, I believe it’s the female, seems to have an injury to her hand.  Police are treating it at this point in time as a murder investigation and one person is being sought who is related to the family.”

Reporter

“Sir, is there any truth to reports that a vehicle is missing?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“As I said, it is a developing story and I do not have all the facts at this point in time.”

Reporter

“Sir, might that suspect be a member of their immediate family?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“I said…”

Reporter

“You said a relative.  But might it have been, let me put it plainly, might the suspect be one of their children?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“I am not going to confirm that to you.”
