BCCI is Concerned that Momentum has been lost in Implementation of UNCAC
Another thorny issue is the United Nations Convention Against Corruption. The Chamber along with the unions and NGOs were critical in the push to its signing three years ago but implementation has been at a snail’s pace. In a letter to the P.M. dated December fifteenth, the Chamber notes that along with the N.T.U.C.B. and the B.N.N., it wrote to G.O.B. since July with the view that momentum had been lost in implementation of UNCAC. The Project Board last convened on February sixth and according to B.C.C.I., the void raises concern. First, G.O.B. has indicated there are budgetary constraints for implantation and second, the window to seek funding is narrowing. The B.C.C.I. wants the momentum revived and accelerated.
