Attempted Murder Caught on Camera; Christopher Guild Remains Critical

There was a shooting in the dead of the night in Belize City on Monday.  A thirty-six year old resident, Christopher Guild, was heading to Freetown Road when he came under attack and it was all caught on surveillance camera.  The gunman was monitoring Guild, employee at B.P.O., and opened fire when he saw the opportunity. An alert police officer in the area responded with gunfire, but the gunman escaped. Here is News Five’s Hipolito Novelo.

Just before midnight on Monday, thirty-six year old Christopher Guild was walking on Barrack Road, Belize City, making his way towards Freetown Road when he was targeted.

 

Surveillance footage shows the shooter trailing Guild on a bicycle and when he got close enough, he fired several shots.

Guild was shot four times, once to the face and three to the upper body. He is seen running away from the gunman, who in an effort to escape, runs into law enforcement officer who acted quickly, pulling out his firearm at was developing and firing shots at the gunman.

 

The shooter dashes to the opposite direction on foot, into Hyde’s lane and escaped.

 

Guild was rushed to the KHMH where he underwent emergency surgery. We are told that he is in a critical condition. Reporting for News Five, I am Hipolito Novelo.
