Meerabux motion completes third day in court
The constitutional motion brought on behalf of Justice George Meerabux entered its third day of hearings in the courtroom of Chief Justice Abdulai Conteh. Lawyers for Meerabux continued their arguments that the actions by the Governor General to have him removed from the bench constituted a violation of his rights, while the Attorney General maintains that the constitutional provisions for removal of a judge have been properly observed. Near newstime court was still in session and if attempts by the Chief Justice to bring the hearing to conclusion tonight are unsuccessful, the small army of lawyers will be at it once again Friday morning.
