UB Nursing Graduates make their mark in regional exams
The University of Belize has been enjoying the spotlight with some of its students excelling in various sectors. Recently, Abbie Godoy won the prestigious Commonwealth Caribbean Rhodes Scholarship. Today, U.B. says that its nursing graduates excelled in Regional Examinations for Nurse Registration. According to a release, seventy percent of UB graduates who sat passed the exams on their first attempt. Sixty-eight persons from Belize sat the exam in October 2019, thirty were successful, of that number twenty-nine are U.B. graduates. Damaris Torres, a June 2019 nursing graduate, had the highest examination score for Belize. The R.E.N.R. exam is a standardized regional exam, administered by the Caribbean Examination Council which the Nursing Council from the Commonwealth Caribbean uses to determine whether or not a candidate is prepared for entry level nursing practice.
