The mother of a toddler is accused of aggravated assault by her ex

A two-year-old child was at the centre of a domestic dispute between the parents. This morning Mara Perez, a resident of Ladyville village, appeared before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson where she was arraigned on a charge of aggravated assault. At the arraignment, Perez pleaded not guilty to the charge. Since there was no objection, she got bail in the sum of two thousand dollars plus one surety. Samuel Lawson who shares a child with Perez wanted to keep the child for another week longer; when he visited Perez in order to discuss the matter, Perez reportedly went into a rage and attempted to stab Lawson with a knife three times. The case was adjourned to February fourth, 2020.
