Body of Belmopan Teen Found

A second missing person was found dead this week. On Monday, the remains of Densmore Bowman from Belmopan were found in a shallow grave between miles twenty-three and twenty-four on the George Price Highway. On Tuesday afternoon, the body of another Belmopan resident, seventeen year old Damion Bregal, was found. He had vanished last week and his family had been searching for him. The grisly discovery was made in the Young Gyal area of Teakettle, Cayo. Here is News Five’s Hipolito Novelo with a report.

The body of Belmopan teen Damion Bregal was discovered on Tuesday night. The seventeen- year old was reported missing on December fifteenth and his decomposing body was found thrown in some bushes off the Young Gyal Road in Teakettle, Cayo. His aunt says that Bregal’s family launched a search but proved futile until the grisly discovery.

“The mother is not strong to deal with it so I came. I am in Belmopan since Monday morning and when I reached in Belmopan I asked my sister and the police station what is going on with my nephew. They asked me if we haven’t heard anything yet. I told them no because I just reached from Belize but I was going to his mother to find out what was happening. When I arrived at his mother, they don’t know anything. We were doing our searches. His step father was searching all the buildings he can think about, all the buildings. All the things we thought about we tried and nothing. So I was telling my sister yesterday that if my nephew does not come home by today I don’t think he will come home again. I don’t want to think about the worst but I don’t think he will come home again.”

Bregal had left home at around seven o’clock that night to an unknown location. After several searches proved futile, the family began to look for his whereabouts.

“He was seventeen years old. I know he did deserve what you did to this little boy. You know who killed him. You are out there rejoicing right now. You are all having fun. But what I have to say thank you to make we find my nephew body and for us to have closure. Thank you again. And the person who passed in front of my sister house that said that his body is already rotting, I know who you are so the police will deal with everything else.”

Bregal is described as a loving nephew who did not deserve such cruel death.

“When I go to Belmopan my nephew always have his arms open to me. I n ever see nobody go there with problem when I am there with my nephew. His mother will have to say whatever she knows but she cannot take it. I understand my sister so I can’t say anything.”
