PUP says zero tolerance to violence against women
The mother of Nicole Usher was heard early this morning on the airwaves with the complaint. She placed a call to Vibes radio complaining of the physical assault on her daughter and granddaughter. The mother alleged the accused individual had displayed a pattern of abusive behaviour but operates above the law due to his high connections in government. In a release, the P.U.P. urges the Commissioner of Police to act decisively in addressing this situation to carry out a thorough and fair investigation. The P.U.P. also strongly condemned all acts of violence and discrimination against women and reminds all Belizeans that no one is above the law. The P.U.P. called on all political, religious, education and business leaders to take a ZERO tolerance approach to violence against women and to champion policies and legislation that seek to protect our women and children against abuse, sexual harassment and violence.
