The Spirit of Christmas with B.E.L.

Throughout the year, Belize Electricity Limited contributes to several initiatives in which employees volunteer to assist schools, churches, and other organizations across the country. During the month of December, a number of activities are done with focus on the vulnerable, elderly population across the country, as well as Christmas programmes. Most recently, the utility company carried out a hamper distribution activity to help one hundred and fifty households across the country. News Five’s Duane Moody reports.

It’s an annual tradition for Belize Electricity Limited during this time of the year. Employees delivered Christmas hampers to ninety deserving families and sixty senior citizens countrywide. Valued at three hundred dollars each, it contains all the ingredients for a Christmas dinner, as well as other grocery items and toiletries.

This annual tradition started last week, where we as employees wrapped, packed and personally delivered the hampers to deserving families that we recommended throughout the country. In addition to the donation, employees companywide also recommend names of recipients to receive the hampers.”

The distribution took place between December nineteenth and twentieth. The recipients were all surprised that they were chosen for the Christmas hamper drive programme.
