A Call for Interested Writers to Enter Belize Literary Prize 2019-2020

The annual Belize Literary Prize is a writing competition that is open for Belizeans living at home and abroad.  The winners are subsequently published in the Belize Literary Prize Series, in partnership with Cubola Publishers.  The initiative is the brainchild of the Belize Book Industry Association.  This year, the genre of choice for the competition is a novelette.  And what is a novelette, you ask?  It is a narrative fictional prose, usually between seven thousand, five hundred to seventeen thousand, five hundred words.  It has to be an original, non-published work.  First place winner will receive one thousand dollars cash courtesy of NICH, while the second and third places will receive five hundred and two hundred and fifty dollars respectively from Cubola Productions.  The deadline for entries is no later than June thirtieth, 2020.
