Ricardo Oh Knocked Down and Killed on the Hummingbird Highway
Fifty-four-year-old Ricardo Oh lost his life on Christmas Eve while riding his bicycle near mile twenty-five on the Hummingbird Highway. At around six o’clock in the evening, Oh was hit by a white Chevrolet cargo truck that was being driven at the time by thirty-one-year-old Alexander Swift of Dangriga Town. When police arrived on the scene they saw Oh on the highway, motionless. He was taken to the Southern Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Deputy Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch Senior Superintendent of Police Hilberto Romero says that the driver has been served with a notice of intended prosecution.

“Information was that he was riding his bicycle when he was hit from behind by the truck. Thereafter he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Investigation is ongoing into this matter at this time. The drive of that truck was served with a NIP and the file will be forwarded to the D.P.P. for directives.”
