“Thank you. This award is dedicated to all of the people that have helped me to get to where I am today. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my mom back home, or for my brother, or for my husband CJ, or for all my friends and family in the country of Belize. Without all of them I wouldn’t be here, and I truly appreciate them. Before I leave, I just want to say hi to my little girl’s basketball team, Michigan, who are all at home, hi. Thank you.”
In addition to female athlete of the year, Jones was also selected as woman’s track and field athlete of the year and U.S. Olympian of the year. With a total of six ESPY’s, Jones has accumulated more than any other woman.
