Doctor Carol Babb Says No Breakdown in Dialogue with B.N.T.U.

The Chief Education Officer says that there has not been a breakdown in communication between the Ministry of Education and the Belize National Teachers Union. In fact, Doctor Carol Babb says that a meeting was held with the union prior to the Christmas vacation and that the union will be informed of any changes to the school’s calendar.

“There is not a breakdown. We met with B.N.T.U. just before going off for Christmas holidays and we have been meeting with the B.N.T.U. constantly. The president and I speak often so we are in dialogue. There is no breakdown and I don’t know why they claim a breakdown. We cannot tell them exactly what will be done as yet because we need to look at the calendar. When we met with them, it was just before the Christmas holidays. Everybody went on holiday, even myself so now that we are back, we are going to look at that school’s calendar.”
