B.P.D. Hard at Work to Keep Peace in the Streets

Alejandro Cowo

If you’ve been around the city in the past couple days, you would have seen a number of stop and searches being carried out by the police. Today, Superintendent Alejandro Cowo asked for the public’s cooperation – as he says these efforts are helping to keep residents safe and reduce the number of crimes being committed. He pointed out that these measures may be responsible for the reduced criminal activities in the city in the last few days.

Supt. Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Eastern Division

“Well, you have seen police presence on many of the streets in Belize City. I thank and I applaud the hard work that they are doing. They are constantly stopping and searching several persons in every part of the city. This has shown that what the police are implementing is working and it will continue to work. I know that some persons might be annoyed because they have been stopped and searched at some point in time but that is what is taking us to the city being calm at this moment. The work that the police is performing – they are doing very well at this time.”
