PM Barrow Comments on Long Line of Immigrants at Diane Finnegan’s Office

U.D.P. Standard Bearer for Lake Independence Dianne Finnegan made headlines last week after lines of immigrants were seen at her constituency office. Finnegan maintains that she is only assisting individuals with the required documentation for them to obtain Belizean nationality. But political observers are suggesting that it is a calculated move to then convert the new Belizeans into voters for the Lake Independence division. Some the individuals have said that they would vote for Finnegan who has denied this as the main motive. At her office, she was seen taking copies of the immigrant’s documents. During Wednesday’s conference, Prime Minister Dean Barrow was asked about it. He says he does not know about it because he does not watch the nightly news.

“Do you frown upon Dianne Finnegan’s office taking office taking copies of immigrants’ identification documents or do you find that acceptable?”
