Opposition Leader on Latest Drug Plane Landing
Opposition Leader John Briceño spoke to News Five today about the drug plane. He says he is not surprised that yet another drug plane landed in Belize. Briceño says that the circumstances of the landings are yet again suspicious and as such, maintains his position that government officials are allegedly involved.
John Briceño, Leader of the Opposition
“I am shock. Another drug plane. Are you surprise? Nobody is surprised and somehow the B.D.F. and thepPolice always get there late. It is like the rainbow. You know after the rain comes the rainbow. That is the B.D.F. and the police. Somehow they get there when everything is gone. I am told they tried to get to the plane using the Crooke Tree Lagoon and their boat got stuck when there is another way in the area of Indian Creek. They could have driven all the way to where the plane was and hopefully they could have captured what was in the plane or the people that are involved. Again, I stick by what I have said high officials in the U.D.P. government must be involved to be allowed planes to be landing with impunity in this country. And they will tell you that they caught the plane, they caught the plane because the plane got stuck in the mud. I am told there is another one in Bladden, right now as we speak that got stuck in the mud like two days but we haven’t heard anything said by the officials, the government officials nor by the media.”
