Briceño Gives Barrow Advice in Figuring Out which Minister Took $25K

John Briceño

According to Briceño, if the Prime Minister wanted to act, he could have already done so.  Today, Briceño advised the PM to check with the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to obtain the documents and have the Financial Intelligence Unit contact the Justice Department in Utah for further information. In response to Briceño’s statement, the Prime Minister says he spoke with the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires, who has now publicly made clear that the U.S. Embassy can do no such thing.  And in respect of the F.I.U., Barrow says that the F.I.U. Director has confirmed that an F.I.U. inquiry turned up nothing whatsoever on Dermen or any minister of government. Briceño says that the PM continues to cover-up.

John Briceño, Leader of the Opposition

“Last week Friday Honourable Kareem Musa made an interesting point. He said that if the Prime Minister really wants to get information all he needs to know is to call the Chargé in the U.S. embassy. Maybe he may not want to do that, but I am going to be helpful to the Prime Minister. What the Prime Minister can do is ask the head of the F.I.U., the Financial Intelligence Unit, to contact the Justice Department in Utah and ask for these documents, saying that it is a part of a local investigation.  I am going to make it even easier for the Prime Minister. The name of the person at the Justice Department is John H. Huber; that is the name that they need to contact to get the formation. I am going to be more helpful to the Prime Minister since he claims that he doesn’t know all the information and that he is ignorant of the fact.  All he needs to do is ask John Saldivar, I want to see your phone and let me see the text messages from Lev. I will give you the number for Lev or whatever his name was, the number is two-one-three-two-one-six-two-one-six-zero. So the Prime Minister could ask John Saldivar; let me look for the text that you get from this phone number. The truth of the matter is that the Prime Minister well knows what has happened in this government. Once again he continues to try to cover up and cover up. That is what he has been doing from day one.  Typical Prime Minister, this Prime Minister, the Honourable Dean Barrow continues to spin and spin and spin, but the noose is getting tighter around his neck and they will not be able get away from this one.”
