Police Fire Warning Shots at Suspect
Shots were fired on Thursday morning in Punta Gorda Cell phone footage shows police arresting a man on Far West Street. According to Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, a suspect was being pursued and to capture him, officers fired warning shots. Commissioner Williams explains what transpired.

“Basically the shooting was done by police. It was the police who fired the shots. They thought it was Mr Bennett who is now in custody who was being pursued. When they responded the persons ran and the police fired two warning shots and the person was caught. Yesterday the person who was pursued based on what the police were saying that he had a gun and they pursued. During the pursuit they fired two warning shots.”
