Ministry of Education Willing to Consult
According to Doctor Babb, the Ministry is committed in consulting with the union to avoid any escalation of tensions.
Dr. Carol Babb, Chief Education Officer
“We are willing to meet and discuss with the union and all managing authority once we heard back from the SolGen’s office. Nothing is written as a final decision. I wouldn’t teachers to get up tight about nothing. We have teachers back too. We are educators. Nothing will be final until after consultation. I want to allay fears of everybody including my colleagues at the union; we are going to consult with them. I don’t know why there is all this fanfare about the ministry wanting to make change without. We have said to them. Read the memo. We are willing to consult with them. They fight for three weeks; Minister Faber said let’s give it to them.”
Hipolito Novelo
“The union says that prior to the January twenty-third response where they said that the ministry said, ‘we noted’…. that prior to that, they were stonewalled when they were trying to get information regarding these issues.”

“I could share emails with you. We have written to Senator Smith and I have sat down with her many times. I have tried calling her over the weekend to tell us let us sit down and talk but I did get an answer. I am telling you. I could showy you phone. I tired talking to her. Personally as the Chief Education Officer, we don’t want confrontation.”
