Waiting for Testimony is Easier than Bureaucracy of a Formal Request – AG Peyrefitte

Attorney General Peyrefitte says that even if he were to proceed with such a request to obtain the names of the government ministers from U.S. Attorney General William Barr, the bureaucracy of that process would take significantly longer than waiting for the trial to commence and simply paying close attention to Jacob Kingston‘s testimony.

“Secondly, you do not get documentation from a requested state in the middle of a trial.  They selected their jury yesterday and the case supposed to have started today.  They’re not going to give you their evidence before they tender that evidence into court, I mean this is just stupid grandstanding on behalf of the P.U.P.  What do they think that they would accomplish by that?  That’s not how you get information.  And then thirdly, I saw in an article in the Salt Lake Tribune, and other information that we have gotten, that this trial should be over by about early March or, we know Jacob Kingston who is supposedly one of the major witnesses will testify probably first or the second witness to testify, so we will know very soon what he has to say.  The time it would take for me to certify that there is an imaginary case going on in Belize, the time for me to request that of the Attorney General of the United States, the time it would take for him to then request that of the prosecution in Utah, even if it were a solidly founded request, even if it was a legitimate request, what we would do now would take much longer than if we just listen to hear what the evidence will be at the trial.  So I just think it’s a desperate attempt on behalf of the P.U.P. to gain some attention or to try to seem as if though they are relevant or genuinely care about what’s going on.  They don’t care about what’s going on but it seems to be the topic of the day so they have to seem as if though they’re doing their part which is just creating mischief and they well and know that that’s not how you get information under the Mutual Legal Assistance protocols.”
