Belize on Right Track to Biodegradability

With thirty years of industrial experience in plastics and packaging, Kelvin Okamoto, C.E.O. of Gen3Bio, was invited as a guest speaker to address the issue of biodegradability.  He commented favourably on Belize’s move toward adopting biodegradability standards.

“It’s great that Belize is willing to take these steps.  Based upon what other countries have already done, they can now use what other countries have learned and implement an up-to-date system for standards and for implementation of laws and regulations for producing and importing compostable and biodegradable products for food service and so on. I think there’s a lot of interest and I think some of these standards are a lot different from what they anticipated but they are very willing to look at possible amendments or revisions might be needed to the proposed standards.”
