Thieves net over $7,000 from K.K. Grocery store
Another business was robbed of cash and other items this week. Song Yu Rong who operates K.K. Grocery at the corner of Gill and Sanker Streets told police that she was inside the business at around nine-thirty on Wednesday morning when she was surprised by three thieves. Song was about to purchase beers from a Bowen and Bowen truck and when she opened her grill door to take out empty crates, three men entered the premises. One of them grabbed her and stole her necklace while the other two helped themselves to cash. But the thieves were not done yet. Song said they then entered her sleeping quarters and took seven thousand dollars in cash, two Chinese passports and work permits. Her total losses amounted to seven thousand nine hundred dollars. Police have detained several suspects but have not yet laid any charges against any for the incident.
