Police caught 4 men red handed stripping car
Two Toyota Camry’s were stolen over the weekend and Police have caught four men red handed in stripping one of the cars to its frame. Winston “Tanga” James thirty-three, of Mahogany Street, Benjamin Taylor twenty, of Racecourse Street, Marlon Ritchie, twenty-three, of a Vernon Street address, all Belize City mechanics and Elvis Meyers, a nineteen year old, fisherman of Gales Point Village were found with the car on the Coastal Road ten miles outside La Democracia Village. They were jointly charged with theft and handling stolen goods on Tuesday. The men were granted and met bail of four thousand dollars each. The case is adjourned until March nineteenth. The stolen 1987 grey Toyota Camry, belongs to Norma Avelor. She parked her car around midday on Saturday in front of Dr. Bennett’s Dental Clinic on Princess Margaret Drive in the city, and minutes later her car was missing. In a similar incident, which also occurred on Saturday, Krishna Gillett said she parked her Camry, also grey, in front of St. John’s Credit Union on Basra Street at 2:30 a.m. When she returned to the spot hours later, the vehicle was nowhere to be found. Police investigations continue into the theft.
