Michelle Brown and Kenrick Longsworth Appear in Court
This morning, a pair of high-profile inmates on remand at the Belize Central Prison were transported to Belize City where they were set to appear before the courts. Twenty-seven-year-old Kenrick Longsworth, on remand for the murder of three-year-old Mark Tuyul Jr. was brought down under heavy police guard to attend a hearing in respect of another, unrelated matter. You would recall that Longsworth had been committed to stand trial in February 2019 for the attempted murder of Kadeem Myers. Myers was shot on the night before the 2018 municipal elections in Belize City. Today when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Robateau, the matter was adjourned to February seventh. Likewise, former GSU officer Michelle Brown was also escorted to the courthouse under armed guard by her erstwhile colleagues in the Gang Suppression Unit. She stands accused of the murder of well-known Belize City barber Fareed Ahmad who was shot and killed in Hattieville on December twenty-eighth, 2017. That matter was also adjourned to February twentieth.
