Still No Arrests in Murder of Ernesto Williams

Ernesto Williams, the proprietor of Sky Deck on Baymen Avenue, Belize City, was executed on January twenty-fourth as he left a friend’s residence on Orange Street. Surveillance footage in the area captured as the gunman approached and fired the deadly shots at Williams. There is reportedly no evidence to suggest that the businessman’s life had been threatened, but police say that they are following several leads to determine a motive. At the press brief today, Superintendent Alejandro Cowo confirmed that several persons had been detained for questioning.

“Over the past days, several persons have been detained, especially from the Pregnant Alley area. They have been questioned and released as there was not enough evidence to charge anybody at this time.”

“Sir I know that police had obtained surveillance footage from that area and was reviewing it. Can you say where the gunman came from or what information, as much as you can give, that was gathered from the surveillance footage in that area?”

“The surveillance camera that we have in that area and other cameras that we have viewed, it shows certain information that is assisting us; however, up to now we cannot identify the person in that surveillance footage.”

“Well there are several speculations that is being rumoured and we are following all those speculations that can probably lead us to a motive.”
