Driver killed in Stann Creek accident

An early morning traffic accident has claimed the life of a truck driver on the Stann Creek Valley Road. David Sainsbury of Dangriga died around 2:00 a.m. when his truck ran into the back of another truck parked on the road. According to Dangriga police, Enrique Basto of San Felipe Village, was experiencing mechanical problems with his truck, and stopped at a lamp post near the Shi-Bel Gas Station at mile six to check his engine. While Basto looked under the hood, Sainsbury’s truck ran into the back of the vehicle, knocking Basto down and running over his legs. Sainsbury died instantly, Basto remains in the Southern Regional Hospital in stable condition.
