Caye Caulker Resident Charged for Shooting at Cop on Mapp Street
Police have arrested and charged one man for firing shots at a Police Constable. In last week’s news we reported on how PC William Woodye narrowly escaped a hail of bullets in Mapp Street area. Woodye was on motorcycle when shots were reportedly fired in his direction and as a result PC Woodye crashed into a parked vehicle and landed on the pavement with minor injuries. Police say that it is believed that the shooter is connected to a robbery on Nursey Street:

“Reference the aggravated assault report made by Constable William Woodye, police arrested and charged Joleel Petillo, twenty-four-year-old of Caye Caulker, for the crime of aggravated assault.”
Reporter
“Are they suspects in the robbery that occurred a short time before that?”
Supt. Alejandro Cowo
“We believe, yes, that they were part of that robbery and we are still looking for two more persons.”
Reporter
“Are there any charges for that?”
Supt. Alejandro Cowo
“Not for the robbery as yet, as we are still trying to convince the persons to visit the station to make a report.”
