“Temptation Island” a hit for Belize tourism
Set on romantic Ambergris Caye, it promised to be a steamy tale of lust and betrayal… and while the seven remaining episodes of “Temptation Island” will no doubt get hotter, the first show was pretty tame. Most of the premier dealt with laying out the rules of the game.
From the series “Temptation Island”
“These four couples are embarking on an incredible journey. Although they are in committed relationships, they’ve agreed to test their devotion to each other by exposing themselves to the ultimate temptation. While separated from their partners on opposite ends of a tropical island paradise they’ll be joined by twenty-six fantasy singles chosen specifically to entice them. For two weeks they’ll mix mingle and date in an attempt to answer a couple’s most important question, “Have I found the one or is someone better out there? Who will stay together? Who will be torn apart? Who will return to their lives with the partner they arrived with, and who will return alone? Find out as these four couples embark on a once in a lifetime journey here on “Temptation Island.”
As tacky as the show’s concept may be, Belize and Ambergris Caye looked anything but. Shot after shot of lush scenery made much of “Temptation Island” look like a promotion for the Tourism Board.

The young lady welcoming the visitors to San Pedro was none other than former News 5 reporter, Debbie Scott. Debbie now works as the general manager of Captain Morgan’s Retreat, one of the show’s principal locations. The other is Mata Chica Resort. Channel 5 will air the first episode of “Temptation Island” tonight at 9:00 and thereafter every Wednesday night at 8:00.
