Another traffic accident in the north; no fatalities

And we go north where a man is in a critical condition following a traffic accident on the Northern Highway. The mishap occurred at around three-thirty this afternoon near mile seventy-six in Concepcion Village when eighteen year old Rafael Pineda of the same village was riding a bicycle towards Corozal Town. Police reports are that Pineda decided to cross the highway just as a towhead was overtaking him. As a result, Pineda collided into the rear right wheel of the towhead and suffered serious neck and spinal injuries. He is now being transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for medical attention. The driver of the towhead, Petronilo Ramirez of Calcutta Village is detained by police pending investigations.
