Minor Shot in Belize City
A twelve-year-old-boy was shot on Friday night in Belize City. Police say that the minor was inside his home with family members when a man walked up and fired shots inside the house just before mid-night. The boy was shot in the leg and is in a stable condition in the hospital. Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero tells us more.

“Police responded to the K.H.M.H. after receiving a report of a shooting incident. Upon their arrival at the K.H.M.H., they found a minor with a gunshot injury to the leg. Investigation revealed that the minor was in a house in the Belama area when two male persons came to the house and fired shots and he received the injury. He is admitted at the K.H.M.H. in a stable condition. No-one is detained at this time for this shooting.”

“We have not determined a motive as yet. Investigation is ongoing.”
