P.U.P. Standard Bearer Says Belmopan Constituents are Rejecting Saldivar
In the constituency of Belmopan, the P.U.P.’s Standard Bearer Oscar Mira says that the constituents have had enough of John Saldivar. The embattled U.D.P. Area Representative has resigned his ministerial portfolio after having been placed on indefinite suspension by Prime Minister Dean Barrow and stripped of the post of leader-elect. Saldivar maintains his innocence, saying that he was not engaged in any bribery or criminal activities with Lev Dermen. Mira says the tiger in Saldivar is practically nonexistent in Belmopan.
Oscar Mira, P.U.P Standard Bearer, Belmopan
“The majority of people in Belmopan, as I go around house to house, campaigning it is totally different. They don’t want John Saldivar in Belmopan to represent them. They don’t want somebody with this kind of criminalities surrounding him. They want an option, somebody who can honestly look after their interest.”

“How do you defeat the tiger in John Saldivar because he has been there for more than three terms?”
Oscar Mira
“I haven’t seen any tiger as yet because going around Belmopan, the tiger has become a kitten. The people of Belmopan don’t want John Saldivar as their area representative. I have been campaigning house to house and the sentiment is that we need change. We need honesty, transparency; somebody who will work for us. He has abandoned Belmopan. He had other motives to be around the world.”
