Concepcion Man Drowns near Pueblo Viejo Ferry Crossing
A man has drowned in northern Belize. Milton Correa, a painter of Concepcion Village in Corozal, lost his life in the New River around two-thirty on Wednesday afternoon. Correa attempted to swim cross because the Pueblo Viejo ferry was delayed as a result of renovations. Here’s more from police.

“Police responded to a report at the Pueblo Viejo Ferry in Corozal, where reports were received of a body floating in the river. Police visited the area where they found Milton Correa motionless in the river. He was retrieved from the river and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. A post-mortem has been conducted which revealed that he died from drowning. Information is that he came to the ferry and attempted to swim across. At some point, half way, he had some difficulties and he went under and thereafter his body resurfaced. No foul play is suspected.”
