Godfrey Group helps at hospital

Story Picture
The spirit of Christmas did not occur only on the south side of Belize City. It travelled to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where the Glenn Godfrey group of companies accompanied by Ozzie the clown and Santa treated some sick kids to dinner, gifts and lots of laughs. News 5 was on hand for the festivities.

Derek Aikman, P.R. Manager, Glenn Godfrey Group

“Well the group of companies decided that we wanted to do something with a community flavour. We looked around to see which would be the best place to target as far as children who?d need a special injection of Christmas into their surroundings and environment and so we thought of the children?s ward here at the hospital. There?s a committee comprised of staff from each of the companies, so we just put together this evening. We have Ozzie the clown entertaining the children and Santa will be arriving in a short while and there is the regular Christmas dinner. We have a called the New Hope Singers comprised of staff amongst the companies and we?ll be doing some carolling for them later on and playing some games and giving out gifts, just to try to try to bring a spirit of Christmas to the children here.”

And because it is a time of giving, Provident Bank and Trust, one of the companies in the Godfrey Group, will be donating ten thousand dollars tomorrow to the Belize Red Cross’ hurricane relief fund.
