Fender Bender Victim Says Vehicle Owner Refuses to Settle Matter
A man, who was involved in a fender bender about a month ago, says that the person responsible doesn’t want to own up to his responsibility. Dennis Wright says he was behind the wheel of his van in Belize City when another van rear-ended him. He visited our studios today to say that he has comprehensive insurance on his vehicle, but has been unable to fix the damage because the owner of the van has refused to respond to his complaint. Wright alleges that tour operator John Pollard is the owner of the van, and that despite that the driver made a report, Pollard has failed to see the process through with the insurance company.
Dennis Wright, Complainant
“I was driving and I hold up for a horse and carriage and this guy was gazing and he rammed into me from the back.”
Andrea Polanco
“What steps did you take following that mishap?”
Dennis Wright
“I went to the police station and I made a report. About a week after, the young man who was driving made a report. When I went to the insurance, they told me that they don’t know how that will be fixed because the man didn’t come to sign anything. But that’s not my business because that is why everybody who the drive should have a license and insurance.”
Andrea Polanco
“The persons who are responsible, perhaps the driver and the owner of the van, you’ve approached. What have they said?”
Dennis Wright
“They don’t care. They have no care.”
Andrea Polanco
“So, now the damage caused to your van?”
Dennis Wright
“The whole back door bend up and one spell it couldn’t even open. I had to pay somebody to get the door open and the insurance aware of that. Because the say day I get knocked, I gone dah the insurance and police and nothing happen from then.”
