Police Out in Full Force for P.U.P.’s Demonstration
The demonstration and rally went without a hitch on Sunday. Commissioner of Police Chester Williams and his team kept law and order as demonstrators marched through the streets of the Old Capital and collected at Battlefield Park. Commissioner Williams was on the ground where he spoke to News Five about his estimated numbers of participants which, we note, is significantly less that the numbers provided by the P.U.P.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“I must say that we knew of the demonstration beforehand we had been making preparations for today. As our offices were told this morning that we are out here to preserve law and order and the objective is to ensure that it goes without incident and so far that has been going well and we want to ensure that it continues until the event comes to an end later on today.”

“We know that there are certain units of the police department that specialize in numbers have you all come out with any numbers for the crowd today?”
Chester Williams
“We would estimate between seven to eight thousand.”
