Robbers strike hard in Belmopan
Four men were tied up and robbed inside a grocery store in the nation’s capital. Around 9:30 Tuesday night, Chinese businessman Hui Hung Chu and three friends were inside Chu’s grocery store on Garza Avenue when four men entered the store, attacked and tied them up. One of the men searched Chu and took away his nine-millimeter pistol, which was loaded with fifteen rounds of ammunition. The assailants also relieved the other three men of one cell phone, one thousand U.S. dollars and two thousand Belize dollars. Before leaving the robbers emptied eight hundred dollars cash from the cash register and fired three shots in the air as they departed down the street. No arrests have yet been made.
