New choir debuts at Landivar
The Baak Yaad Tyata is not the only place that will be filled with the sounds of music on Saturday night. Those who believe that the greatest musical instrument of all is the human voice, will find some new sounds emanating from Landivar.

Seven Belizeans, five women and two men ,are blending their voices in preparation for their debut Christmas concert. The group, which calls itself Via-Vocalite or True Voices will serve up a delightful Christmas mix of new and old tunes. Enrique Pech is the Director.
Enrique Pech, Musical Director
“Some of the music we plan on doing will be the traditionals, ?Do you see what I see? and some of the new Christmas carols like Mariah Carey’s ?All I want for Christmas is you?; some oldies such as ?Ghee Whiz it’s Christmas? and several others we want to keep as a surprise for the people who come to the concert.”
And those people who come to Fordyce Chapel on SJC?s campus on Saturday night will certainly be surprised to know that the six-month old group is at a level far beyond it?s years.

“The money we’ll be raising is for the group to purchase equipment that we?ll need as we become more established and also in the spirit of Christmas, we plan on donating a portion of the proceeds to a charitable cause.”
Tickets for Saturday’s Christmas concert can be bought at five dollars from members of the group or at the door on the evening of the performance. The true voices begin to sing at 7:30.
