…Farmers Will Protest!

According to Scott, the expected sale of the land in question and subsequent development will have an adverse effect on not only villagers of Santa Cruz, but those from San Roman and Santa Rosa. The chairmen of those villages are also upset and will join Scott in leading a protest on March fifth when parliamentarians meet in Belmopan for the Sitting of the House of Representatives.

“We are planning to do a protest at around the fifth at Belmopan when they are having the House Meeting. We are trying to do a protest there. We will try to take Santa Rosa and San Roman along with us and some busses and try to do a protest concerning this because we don’t know up to know that there is nobody coming into these village and explaining what is happening.  This thing will really affect us. It will really affect the future of Stann Creek, the future of this area.”
