Brig. General Ortega Fields Media Questions about Fatal Crash
The B.D.F is still reeling from the fatal crash that claimed the lives of four of their own. But tonight there are still many questions and at today’s press briefing, Brigadier General Steven Ortega answered some of those questions. Ortega, visibly shaken by the deaths of four of his officers, responded to few questions today. He shared fielded a couple questions at today’s briefing.

“The helicopter was over the site during the operation.”

“At what time, are you able to say?”
Brigadier General Steven Ortega
“About zero four-thirty, thereabouts.”

“Are you able to say what time the helicopter left the airwing?”
Brigadier General Steven Ortega
“The helicopter left about zero four hundred, however, they have to do preliminary checks and warm ups prior, so you would hear the helicopter start up and lift up because they do checks , which are safety checks that is normal. But they left for the operation at zero four hundred.”

“General, can you say whether the helicopter was equipped with a flight data recorder and if it was, has it been recovered?”

“No. It is not equipped with any.”
