A Home Invasion on New Road, Belize City
Around two-thirty on February seventh, there was a home invasion on New Road in Belize City. Businessman Obadul Islam reported to police that he woke up to discover that two armed men had broken into the house. The men then proceeded to rob Obadul and other persons inside the house of an undisclosed amount of cash, an assortment of jewellery and electrical items. Superintendent Cowo says that the investigation has since determined how the thieves gained access into the house.

“Obadul Islam, a fifty-five years old Belizean businessman, who reported that at 2:30 while sleeping inside of a room, he heard some noise coming from inside he house and thereafter observed two male persons inside of the room, two of them armed with firearms. As a result, they held him up along with other persons and stole from them an undisclosed amount of cash. Thereafter, they made good their escape. Police have since detained two male persons who are presently in custody and being interviewed.”
