Jareth Jones is Target by a Gunman on His Way Home

Twenty-four hours after the fatal shooting that claimed the life of Devon Arnold, shots rang out once again in Belize City. The gun violence occurred in another hotspot of the Old Capital in which Jareth Jerry Jones was injured. Jones was heading to his house on Courtney Crescent when a gunman approached and opened fire. He was struck multiple times and rushed to the K.H.M.H. where he was treated and discharged later that night. Superintendent Alejandro Cowo says that the incident may be connected to previous gun violence in the area, but was Jones the intended target?

“What police gathered so far is that Mister Jones was walking on Courtney Crescent heading towards his home when he was approached by a male person who fired shots at him, causing the injuries to him. We know that there have been a number of incidents in that area and so believe that it is connected to other shootings that happened there last week.”

“Well at the moment he was the only person on the street.”
