Firearms found at eco-lodge
On November nineteenth the police pulled up outside of Mama Noots, an eco-tourist inn located at mile six on the Southern Highway, near the Maya site of Mayflower. However, the authorities were not there to check-in, but rather to conduct a search of the premises. As a result, the police discovered a tech-nine APR with a magazine containing ten nine-millimetre rounds, one Davis brand thirty-two pistol with an empty magazine and a box containing eighteen nine-millimetre rounds. Proprietors of the inn, American Kevin Denny and Belizean Nanette Bemer, were arrested and charged for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and the possession of a prohibited firearm.
