Hurricane relief run slated for Saturday
In addition to winning gold, this weekend Belizean athletes will be looking to raise some. On Saturday, the Belize Amateur Athletic Association road racing committee will be holding a relathon, a run for relief, in aid of hurricane victims. The relay gets underway at six a.m. in Benque Viejo and ends in Belize City. John Brackett, a fundraiser for the event, is inviting the public to support the venture.

“Yes we are asking people to come out and support us to the best of their ability in gifts. We will also be doing some collections along the route. Mr. Novelo?s bus leaves Pound Yard at the taxi stand at four o?clock Saturday morning en route to Benque Viejo.?

?And those who would like to take part in the relathon, what should they do??
John Brackett
?They should contact me at telephone number 70578 or Linsford Castillo at 014-7232. They could contact me any time at those given numbers. I want to invite all those who want to run, the athletes, who want to participate, they can still come out even if they didn?t contact me. We have enough space for them.?
So far fifty people have signed up to take part in the cross country relay.
