Six escape from Hattieville Prison
It seems that not informing the media of escapes from the Hattieville Prison is becoming a regular practice of the Department of Corrections. On Wednesday, six men escaped from the prison, four of which have already been recaptured. This afternoon when News Five visited the prison to get information on the jailbreak, we were told we could not see Bernard Adolphus or any other officials, because they were all busy in a meeting. However, sources tell us that shortly before eleven that night the six prisoners, Juan Carlos Zetina, Santos Lewis, Upston Lopez, Bill Hughes, Jermaine Mendoza and Adrian Escobar broke out from the remand building, located at the front of the institution. The men got away by knocking out a large section of the burglar barred back window. Once outside, the inmates quickly climbed over the fence and ran off. Although there is a twenty-four hour KBH security stationed in front of the compound, the prisoners were not seen until a prison guard on duty at the Tango One building, situated to the back of the institution, saw the men fleeing. Zetina, Lewis, Hughes and Mendoza have all been recaptured. Tonight the police and prison officials are looking for twenty-one year old Upston Lopez who is on remand for robbery and twenty-seven year old Adrian Escobar, who is on remand for Carnal Knowledge. If you know the whereabouts of Escobar and Lopez, you are asked to contact the nearest police station.
