Immigration Department Suspends Certain Services
Due to the threat of COVID-19, the Immigration Department is suspending certain services beginning today. Applications for passports will be accepted only for emergency travel; otherwise all is on hold. Applications for nationality, permanent residences and visas are also suspended. In respect of visas, however, where these are required to obtain extensions in order for persons to maintain their legal status in Belize, these will be allowed. The department is also asking the public not to visit their offices if there are experiencing flu-like symptoms or have travelled within the last fourteen days from a country in which COVID-19 has been confirmed.
